As a South African im Coloured,im as white as white can be,but if you asked a white South African if i am white they would tell you i don't qualify as white despite having the same skin colour(not albino btw) If you asked a black South African if a dark skinned colored was black they would say that dark skinned person doesn't qualify as black In South africa your race has more to do with background culture based on the area you grew up and is not entirely tied to skin colour Tyla accent and way she carries herself matches more with the coloured community

I definitely used to be one of those people on a Black power movement place in my life. But it IS draining and you get tired of the same conversations. Ive ended friendships over these conversations because I called myself explaining certain things to my white friends and then they turn around and do or say some shit where I realized Id wasted my time. The only times in my life when I made it a point to discuss and put my foot down is when my kids have experienced some form of racism in school. Ive HAD to go to bat for my kids and these schools realized that MY kids are the WRONG ones to f*ck with. Too many Black, Brown and Indigenous parents wouldn't keep their foot on the schools neck about the racism but I did. Im so glad my kids are adults now because racism in the schools is EXHAUSTING. Racism in general is exhausting. Theres people who are fighting the good fight but I dont have it in me anymore.

Hey Dee, I really enjoy watching your videos. I agree with you on the argument that there are times Black Americans are look down upon. I dud have a little bit of a push back on the hostile language you pointed out that folks had toward Americans. (I'm American too, by the way) I think alot of it comes from the energy we give to the rest of the world, America as a whole. I recommend look up conversations about American Exceptionalism.
